Air-conditioning system specialist Hispacold will, this week, make its first delivery of 40 protective face masks, manufactured using 3D printers, to the Virgin Macarena of Seville Hospital.

Due to the scarcity of protective clothing and equipment for frontline staff at hospitals, surgeries, clinics and medical centres in Seville, Hispacold, which normally supplies air-conditioning systems to coaches and buses, has switched its production to the manufacture of face masks – one of several initiatives aimed at supporting organisations, businesses and individuals fighting the Coronavirus epidemic.
Using 3D printers, Hispacold has manufactured the face masks for professionals and health staff working at the hospital in Seville. Acetate-visors can be attached to ensure full facial protection for staff, including those working on surgical and intensive care wards and in the emergency departments.
The masks also protect frontline health workers from possible infection by patients who cough and sneeze.
In line with The W.H.O. (World Health Organisation) recommendations and Government Health directives, Hispacold has brought in measures to prevent the spread of infection, like teleworking and restrictions on movement, and other hygiene precautions aimed at containing the pandemic.
